Gov't to invest 12 trillion won in new education system

President Kim Dae-jung has unveiled plans to revive the nation's educational system.
The plans call for investment of 12 trillion won or nine point two billion U.S. dollars to set up a new education system.
He announced the plans after receiving a report from the Presidential Commission on Education and Human Resource Policy on a human resource development plan.
The president stressed the importance of human resources development in a knowledge-based society.
He said the nation's education system should be transformed into one pursuing creativity, diversification and specialization.
