North Korea is stepping up its attacks on South Korea’s decision to vote for the United Nations resolution condemning the reclusive country's human rights conditions.
The Minju Chosun, the official daily of the North's Cabinet, on Wednesday said that while Pyongyang sincerely hopes for improved inter-Korean relations it cannot help but question whether the South respects the joint declaration of June 15, 2000. The daily called the vote a new obstacle to cross-border ties.
The North’s official daily Rodong Shinmun on Tuesday also said that it will surely retaliate for Seoul's treacherous act.
The paper last week called the South’s vote for the U.N. resolution an unforgivable, anti-unification trick aimed at destroying the foundation of the joint declaration.
