A Russian news agency reports that banners proclaiming a nuclear North Korea have appeared in the streets of Pyongyang.

Itar-Tass News said the banners began to appear after North Korea announced it successfully conducted a nuclear test on October ninth.

A banner hanging across the central railway square in the North’s capital city said "glory to North Korea with its five-thousand-year history for becoming a nuclear state."

The report said a banner with the same message was also hanging near the Pyongyang Grand Theater.
