North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency says that Pyongyang will not use its nuclear weapons against South Korea.

China’s Xinhua News Agency said the North Korean news outlet made the statement Friday as it called on the South and other countries to join Pyongyang in their fight against what they deemed ‘hostile’ policies from Washington.

The North’s statement also said that Pyongyang would use its nuclear arsenal to maintain peace in the region.
