Commission Chief to Advise on NK Rights Cases

The chief of the National Human Rights Commission says his agency will advise on individual cases concerning North Korea's human rights.

Ahn Kyong-whan said Wednesday that relevant information will be gathered through global cooperation as it's difficult to conduct field inspections in North Korea.

He said the commission will work harder to provide the government with advice on human rights.

Ahn said that everyone knows the North Korean human rights situation is bad and must be improved, adding that his agency's capacity does not allow it to improve conditions there alone.
