NK Delegates Return to Joint Economic Office

North Korean representatives to a joint economic office with South Korea have returned to work about five months after their unilateral withdrawal.

An official said Wednesday that the representatives on Monday returned to work at the joint office of the Inter-Korean Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee located in the Gaesong Industrial Complex.

In July, Pyongyang canceled a planned inter-Korean family reunion and recalled three of nine delegates to the office. The moves followed Seoul's suspension of rice and fertilizer aid to the North following the communist country's missile test launches in July.

Attention is on whether the North’s latest move indicates a possible resumption of cross-border dialogue that has been stalled since the 19th inter-Korean ministerial talks in July.
