Cross-border Power Transmission Lines Connected

The construction of inter-Korean power transmission lines for companies at the Gaesong Industrial Complex in North Korea has been completed.

The complex management committee said Thursday that power lines connecting the substations of Moonsan in the South and Gaesong in the North will provide 100-thousand kilowatts of power to the park’s first-phase plot. A total of 48 steel towers have also been built.

Korea Electric Power Corporation said that when the Gaesong substation is completed early next year, it will be able to provide a sufficient amount of electricity to firms at the complex.
