Cmte to Support Daegu's Bid for 2011 Championship

The National Assembly has set up a special committee to support the city of Daegu's bid to host the 2011 World Athletics Championship.
The committee on Wednesday appointed main opposition Grand National Party lawmaker Park Jong-keun as its chairman and adopted a resolution urging the Assembly's active support for a successful bid.
The host city will be decided this March at a meeting of council members of the International Association of Athletics Federations in Mombasa, Kenya.
Other cities in the running include the Australian city of Brisbane, Russia's Moscow and Spain's Barcelona.
