South Korea wins two int'l science olympiads

The Korea Science and Engineering Foundation or SOSEF said Sunday that South Korea has won two international science contests at the same time.
According to the institute, South Korea snatched three gold medals and one silver to win the 33rd International Cheministry Olympiad, held in Mombai, India.
The annual event, which ran from July 6 through 15 included the participation of 210 students from 54 countries.
In another accomplishment, the nation also won the 12th International Biology Olympiad hosted by Belgium during the same period with three gold medals and one silver.
A total of 151 students from 38 nations competed at the event.
Kim Jong-hyun from the KOSEF said....this occasion is expected to be a stepping-stone for the development of basic scene in Korea.
