N.K. repeats refusal to allow IAEA inspection

Written: 2001-07-18 00:00:00Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

North Korea renewed its refusal to accept the International Atomic Energy Agency's request to inspect nuclear-related facilities in the communist country, saying such an inspection is against the terms of the U.S.-North Korea Agreed Framework.
The North's reaction came in response to remarks made by the chief for Asia-Pacific of safeguards department of the IAEA that North Korea's refusal may adversely affect Washington's nuclear reactor provision to the North.
The (North) Korean Central News Agency said in a commentary Monday this showed once again the biased and criminal attempts of the IAEA to shift the responsibility for non-compliance with the agreed framework onto the DPRK at any cost.
