With the top nuclear negotiators from the two Koreas arriving Monday in Beijing, many are watching to see if a meeting will take place between the South's Chun Yung-woo and the North's Kim Kye-kwan.
North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim will fly to Beijing from Moscow where he discussed resuming the six-way talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov. South Korean envoy Chun will arrive in the Chinese capital Monday afternoon.
Kim and Chun will each meet one-on-one with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei on Monday to discuss the schedule for resuming the nuclear dialogue. There is speculation that they will hold a bilateral meeting.
However, a Foreign Ministry official in Seoul dismissed the possibility of a two-way meeting between North and South Korean chief negotiators, saying no plans exist for such a meeting. The two had met previously last December on the sidelines of the fifth round of the six-party talks.
