A Korean homemaker has scaled the highest peaks on five continents.

Mountain climber Kim Soon-joo from Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, successfully scaled Argentina's 69-hundred-59-meter Mount Aconcagua on December 30th last year.

In 1992, Kim climbed a Himalayan mountain over six thousand meters high. She scaled Mount Everest the next year to become the first Korean woman to reach the 88-hundred-48-meter high peak.

She conquered North America's Mount McKinley and Africa's Mount Kilimanjaro in 1997, and reached the summit of Europe's 56-hundred-42 meter Elburz Mountain range in 2004.
