Hundreds of farmers from South and North Korea danced and wrestled and played traditional farmers' games in Mount Geumgang in the North.
The gathering was organized by the South Korean Farmers' League and the North Korean Agricultural Workers Union.
Leaders from the two groups vowed to support a historic summit agreement between the two Koreas signed in June last year.
The two sides had planned to hold the gathering in June to mark the first anniversary of the South-North summit talks. But that plan was postponed due to a severe drought in both South and North Korea.
The gathering is the first of its kind since the division of the Korean peninsula in 19-45.
