S. Korea Advances to 2nd Place at Winter Asian Games

South Korea has climbed to second place in the overall standings at the sixth Winter Asian Games under way in Changchun, China, after winning three gold medals on Thursday.

Both the men and women’s curling teams grabbed golds on Thursday.

The third gold of the day came from star speed skater Lee Kyou-huck in the men's one-thousand-meter race one. Thursday’s gold medal was Lee’s second after his first gold in the 15-hundred-meter race earlier on Wednesday.

South Korea has garnered a total of nine gold medals, one more than Japan.
