A paper issued by a pro-North Korea association in Japan says that Pyongyang's approach will reflect the U.S. attitude at the ongoing six-way nuclear talks in Beijing.
The Choson Sinbo newspaper said Friday that if the U.S. takes temporary measures at the talks, North Korea will also take limited steps.
It said, however, that if Washington shows through action that it has withdrawn its hostile policy, Pyongyang will be willing to take a step toward denuclearization, stressing that bilateral moves must be stride-for-stride, step-by-step.
The paper said that North Korea can discuss giving up its existing nuclear program, adding that if conditions mature, the North can take measures to halt operation of its Yongbyon nuclear facilities.
