Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee on Tuesday visited Pyeongchang City in Gangwon Province to support the city’s bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

As an International Olympic Committee member, Lee made the visit to show his interest in Pyeongchang's bid and check its preparedness before IOC representatives carry out field inspections between February 14th and 17th. The host city will be picked in July.

Along with Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook, Lee will attend a welcoming dinner for visiting IOC inspectors. The dinner will be hosted by the Pyeongchang bid committee at the Yongpyeong resort on Wednesday.
