US Rep. Lane Evans (D-Illinois) told reporters in a press conference Tuesday a resolution draft submitted to the House of Representatives called for Japan's immediate apology and compensation to Asian women who were forced to work as sex
slaves for Japanese soldiers.

The draft, initiated by 20 lawmakers including Evans, demanded that Japan teach its young people about the tens of thousands of young girls and women forced by the Japanese government to serve as "comfort women" during the Second World War.
The draft also demanded that Japan publicly repudiate its denial that its former government mobilized young Asian women as sex slaves during World War II.
