North Korean consular officials in Hong Kong held a humble birthday celebration for their national leader Kim Jong-il at the Hong Kong Marriott Hotel on Wednesday. Kim turns 65 on Friday.

Celebrations have been held at the consulate general since Kim's 60th birthday in 2002. It's the first time for the Hong Kong consulate to hold a celebration at an outside venue.

A party attendee said, however, that there was no special mention of the nuclear dismantlement agreement reached Tuesday at the six-way talks in Beijing.
