The European Parliament will discuss human rights in North Korea again at a meeting slated for next month.

Back in November of last year, a European Union-sponsored resolution condemning Pyongyang's human rights abuses was passed at the United Nations (U.N.) for the second year in row.

The North rejected the resolution, claiming it was nothing but a politically motivated plot.

The EU parliament will also review a report on human rights violations in the reclusive communist country on March 20th.

They will be briefed at the meeting by three renowned activists: Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel, former Czech President Vaclav Havel and former Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik.

The trio called on the U.N. Security Council to take action against Pyongyang at the end of 2006. In a report, they called on the international community to intervene to correct the egregious human rights situation in North Korea.
