Seoul Gives Less Than Half of Intended Aid to NK in 2006

The government implemented less than half of the aid gathered in the Inter-Korean Cooperation Fund last year due to uneasy relations between the two Koreas.

The ministry explained that it was mainly due to South Korea putting off rice and fertilizer aid to North Korea, when bilateral relations deteriorated in the wake of North Korea's nuclear test last year.

North Korea's test was conducted at underground facility on October 9th, shocking both South Korea and the international community.
