S. Korea hot destination for Japanese summer vacationers

The Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) said Thursday Japanese tourists selected South Korea as their favorite summer destination.
The survey by Japan Travel Bureau Inc. (JTB), the largest travel bureau in Japan, showed that 342,000 Japanese are going to visit South Korea this summer.
The number is second to Europe, but the KNTO pointed out that more Japanese are expected to visit Korea this summer than any single European nation.
The JTB attributes South Korea's popularity to shoppers hunting for bargains.
