Inter-Korean Ministerial Talks to Open Tuesday

The 20th inter-Korean ministerial talks will open in Pyongyang on Tuesday for a four-day run.

The Cabinet-level talks, the first in seven months, are expected to focus on the South’s provision of rice and fertilizer and ways to resume the reunions of separated families.

The two sides will also discuss resuming inter-Korean military and economic cooperation meetings.

Unification Minister Lee Jae-jeong will head the South’s delegation while the North will be represented by Chief Cabinet Councilor Kwon Ho-ung.

The Unification Ministry said the upcoming talks will not only contribute to normalizing South-North relations, but also to promoting inter-Korean harmony and establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula.
