Initial NK Oil Aid to Cost 20 Bln Won

The government is busily preparing to deliver 50-thousand tons of heavy oil to North Korea as promised in the February 13th six-way nuclear agreement.

A Unification Ministry official said that to make the 60-day deadline for the oil provision, a preliminary report by a National Assembly committee and a written deliberation by an inter-Korean exchange consultative body have already been finished.

He said the 20 billion won for the oil and transport costs will come from the inter-Korean cooperation fund and that the Public Procurement Service will select the refinery that will provide the oil.
