Ethnic Korean adoptee and Winter Olympic bronze medalist Toby Dawson has arrived in the nation to meet his biological father.

Dawson arrived at the Incheon International Airport with his girlfriend on Tuesday morning after departing from Los Angeles.

Dawson confirmed through DNA tests that 53-year-old Kim Jae-soo in Busan was his biological father.

Dawson lived at an adoption agency in Busan for about eight months after he got lost in a market in the port city in 1981.

He was adopted by an American ski instructor couple in Colorado in 1982 when he was three years old.

He later disclosed his wish to find his biological parents when he won a bronze at the Winter Olympics in Turin last year.

Dawson will return to the United States next week.
