Two Koreas Discuss Railway Test Runs

North and South Koreas held working-level talks in the border city of Gaesong on Wednesday to discuss proposed test runs on two reconnected cross-border railways.

During the talks, which end Thursday, the two sides discussed safety guarantees and technical issues for test runs on the railways before July, as agreed at inter-Korean ministerial talks early this month.

According to the Unification Ministry in Seoul, the South Korean delegation asked the North to provide a safety guarantee from its military, but the North did not give a clear response.

Attention is being drawn to whether the two sides will reach an agreement Thursday.
