North Korea's official Central Broadcasting Station said Monday it discovered button-shaped bronze tools and other relics at Namyangri in South Pyongan Province that are thousands of years old.
The state broadcaster noted that a newly discovered bronze spearhead was a very rare find from the Tangun era.
It also said that the button-shaped bronze tools unearthed had not lost their sheen even after 5000 years because of the scientific way they were made.
Stone-made weapons and farming tools, such as a Moon-shaped hatchet, dagger and chisel, were also discovered at the Namyangri site, which show stone-processing techniques that were very refined considering the lack of available technology at that time.
