KFA to Ask FIFA to Rethink Penalty on Park CY

The Korea Football Association will request that the world soccer governing body review a penalty on national soccer team player Park Chu-young, who received a red card for pushing a Yemeni opponent during an Olympic qualifier on February 28th.

FIFA has banned Park from three upcoming matches.

KFA foreign relations chief Kim Joo-seong says Park's action wasn't serious enough to merit a three match absence, adding that his organization will file the request soon.

Kim said that a one or two game suspension would have been enough. Even if the request is denied, he said FIFA should explain the harsh penalty.
