76% of S.Koreans Back Inter-Korean Summit

A survey says more than 76 percent of South Koreans support an inter-Korean summit.

The Institute for Social Trends said Sunday that in its poll of 700 adults across the country, three fourths say they are in favor while 19 are opposed.

On when the summit should be held, 55 percent said before the presidential election in December and 38 percent after the election.

More than 54 percent said Seoul should host the event. Fifty-six percent said the top agenda should be setting up a peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.

On which country has benefited most from the February 13 six-party agreement on North Korea's nuclear dismantlement, most pollees said the United States, followed by North Korea and South Korea.
