Swimmer Park Fails to Qualify for 1500m Finals

Swimmer Park Tae-hwan has failed to advance to the men’s final 15-hundred meter freestyle race at the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

In the qualifying round on Saturday, Park came in third with a time of 15:03.62, behind the world record holder Grant Hackett of Australia, and Erik Vendt of the United States.

However, the South Korean swimmer ranked ninth overall, with only eight swimmers advancing to the final round on Sunday.

In the championships, the teenage swimmer grabbed a gold medal in the men's 400-meter freestyle and a bronze in the men's 200-meter freestyle, breaking the previous Asian records for those events.
