N. Korea’s Taekwondo Chief Visits Seoul

The head of North Korea's International Taekwondo Federation has arrived in Seoul for a four-day visit.

Arriving via direct flight from Pyongyang, federation President Chang Ung led a 60-member taekwondo delegation for talks with South Korean sports officials.

During the stay, he will also lend support to the South Korean city of Pyeongchang’s bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Chang concurrently serves on the International Olympic Committee as North Korea's only representative.

In addition, he will discuss with South Korean sports officials the merger of North and South Korea’s separate governing bodies for the traditional martial art.

In an interview upon his arrival, Chang said that preparations for the merger are going well, noting that a road map has been drawn up.
