NK to Act after Confirming Funds' Release

North Korea says it will act to implement the six-way nuclear agreement of February 13th once it confirms the release of funds held at Macao's Banco Delta Asia bank.

A North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said Friday that his country's finance authorities will soon confirm the U.S. Treasury Department’s release of the frozen funds.

The spokesman said that Pyongyang remains unchanged in its will to implement the six-way nuclear deal and that it will begin implementation when it can confirm the lifting of the BDA sanctions.

The spokesman added that his government takes note of this week's announcements by the U.S. Treasury and the Macao government that the North Korean assets had been released.

Pyongyang is expected to soon confirm availability of the funds and implement initial nuclear dismantlement steps including allowing the return of International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors.
