Meanwhile, the chairman of Daewoo Motor has denied reports that the government is considering a plan to drop its money-losing main plant west of Seoul.
He said there is no change in the company's position to sell all units in a package deal to General Motors.
Local reports said Wednesday that the government may exclude the outdated Pupyong plant from the sale in order to break the deadlock in bargaining negotiations.
