The government says it will designate five hundred of the world's top class export products by two-thousand-five.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy has already fingered one hundred-20 items for this year, and will continue to nominate one hundred more every year over the next four years.
The ministry unveiled the plans at the "Uncovering the World's Top Products" event held at the convention and exhibition center in southeastern Seoul Wednesday.
According to the ministry, South Korea only has 76 world-leading items, which is very low compared to other Asian countries. Taiwan has one hundred-22 and China one thousand-300.
