Two Koreas to Discuss IT Cooperation

Information technology (IT) experts from South and North Korea will likely gather this year in Pyongyang to discuss ways to promote IT cooperation between the two nations.

According to the Information Technology Forum for Unification, the joint seminar is expected to be held in the North's capital city in October. The forum is a private organization established in 2000 that comprises info tech leaders and North Korea experts from the South Korean parliament.

South Korea is one of the world's leading IT powerhouses. Some observers, however, are concerned about the digital divide between the two Koreas, which technically remain at war, as the Korean War ended five decades ago with a cease-fire, instead of an actual peace treaty.
