NK Diplomat Urges Complete Transfer of BDA Funds

A top North Korean diplomat says that his country will consider the Banco Delta Asia issue resolved when all of its funds at the Macao bank have been completely transferred.

The minister for political affairs at the North's U.N. mission, Kim Myong-gil, stressed Wednesday that the matter could not be settled by merely unfreezing the funds at BDA, as Washington had claimed.

Kim said no results have been produced yet on the BDA issue.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Director for Asian Affairs at the National Security Council Victor Cha will hold discussions with North Korean diplomats in New York Wednesday.
