NK Celebrates Military's 75th Year

North Korea held a massive military parade under the eyes of leader Kim Jong-il in Pyongyang Wednesday to mark the 75th anniversary of its military's founding.

New chief of general staff for the Korean People's Army, General Kim Kyok-sik, claimed in a speech that the danger of war still looms in North Korea due to U.S. imperialists' acts to crush the North.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency said that the Korean People's Army is invincible, adding that it has mighty war deterrence capabilities to safeguard the interests of the country and the safety of the people.

Wednesday’s parade, in particular, included a large number of soldiers in formation, as well as missiles and rockets, at a time when Pyongyang is delaying its initial steps toward nuclear dismantlement due to problems transferring North Korean funds from a Macao bank.
