Gov’t to Prepare for Inter-Korean Rail Test

The Korea Railroad Corporation will inspect sections of the inter-Korean railway on the South's side of the demilitarized zone as part of preparations for cross-border test runs to be held May 17th.

Some 50 specialists on train operations, rail cars and electrical systems will inspect a one-point-eight kilometer section of the western Gyeongui Line by this Friday.

Its cross-border counterpart to the east, the Donghae Line, will be inspected next week.

South and North Korea agreed to conduct test runs of the two lines during last week's inter-Korean economic cooperation talks.
