Foreign firms interested in acquiring Daewoo Electronics

The sale of Daewoo Electronics is coming closer as several foreign electronics firms are expected to submit purchase proposals by the end of this month.
K-P-M-G the lead-manager in the sale of Daewoo Electronics, said five foreign firms have shown interest in acquiring the Korean electronics giant. Two firms are in Japan, one in the United States, one in the Netherlands, and one in France.
The creditors and K-P-M-G plan to designate two or three priority negotiating partners after reviewing all the bidders terms' and purchase offers.
According to local reports, Japanese firms have the strongest chances as their offers stand at the top.
Creditors plan to finish negotiations by the end of September.
Assets for the Korean firm are estimated at four trillion won or three point one billion dollars.
