Two Koreas Exchange Family Reunion Lists

South and North Korean Red Cross officials met at the truce village of Panmunjeom on Friday to exchange lists of finalists for face-to-face family reunions to be held in mid-May.

The two sides chose one-hundred finalists each out of three-hundred-three candidates whose whereabouts have been confirmed.

A South Korean Red Cross official said one-hundred families from the South will meet their relatives in the North for three days from May ninth, while one-hundred North Korean families will meet their relatives in the South from May 12th to May 14th.

The official said that the oldest South Korean in the group is 98-year-old Go Myeon-cheol, who will meet his daughter and son living in the North, while the oldest North Korean participant is O Gwang-hup, who will meet his daughter and son-in-law from the South.

The two Koreas recently agreed to hold additional family reunions in August and September.
