Koreas Fail to Discuss Details on Test Runs

The two Koreas have postponed setting details for test runs of two reconnected cross-border railways. The tests are slated to begin May 17th.

Working-level officials from Seoul and Pyongyang held Sunday their 13th round of rail talks in the North Korean border city of Gaesong.

A Unification Ministry official in Seoul said the two Koreas have reached a comprehensive agreement but decided to work out details for the test runs after military security guarantees are devised.

Next week's working-level military talks between both sides will thus determine the fate of the trial runs.

The test runs were supposed to commence last year, but were canceled after the North Korean military refused to guarantee the safety of South Korean trains.
