N.Korean Delegation Arrives for May Day

A North Korean delegation has flown into South Korea to attend a joint celebration of May Day, or International Workers' Day.

The 60-member group is led by the vice chairman of the North's General Federation of Trade Unions, Won Hyong-guk.

They arrived at Gimhae International Airport just outside of Busan on a direct flight from Pyongyang.

Won referred to the joint statement adopted at the historic inter-Korean summit and called the joint celebration one of the fruits of the declaration in getting workers of the two Koreas to join hands in reunifying the nation.

The North Korean delegation were welcomed by some 200 people, including representatives from two South Korean labor umbrella groups — the Federation of Korean Trade Unions and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions.
