North Korea's Central Broadcasting Station said Saturday Koreans living overseas are arriving in Pyongyang one group after another to take part in the national unification festival to be held there.
The state media reported delegations from Russia, China and Uzbekistan arrived Friday and paid tribute to the late President Kim Il-sung's statue.
Meanwhile, the North's preparation committee for the festival refused a request from the South on Friday to move the venue away from a monument that honors the North's vision of territorial unification.
