NK Tries to Transfer BDA Funds to Russia, Italy

North Korea reportedly has made a new proposition regarding its funds at a Macao bank.

China’s top negotiator to the six-way nuclear talks Wu Dawei said Sunday that Pyongyang had asked Macao authorities to transfer the 25 million dollars it has at Banco Delta Asia to North Korean accounts in Russia and Italy.

Wu made the statement when he met with former Japanese foreign minister Komura Masahiko in Beijing.

The North allegedly made the request last Saturday in the hopes of receiving its funds via its accounts held at Russian financial institutions.

Following the North’s request, Macao authorities are reportedly examining whether it is possible to transfer the North’s money to Russia and Italy.
