Uri Lawmakers to Visit Pyongyang Wednesday

A group of Uri Party lawmakers will visit Pyongyang for four days beginning Wednesday.

The four legislators, including Representatives Kim Kyuk-kyu and Kim Tae-nyeon, are members of the Uri’s Northeast Asia Peace Committee.

The legislators are scheduled to meet North Korean parliamentary leader Kim Yong-nam and the head of the North's Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation Kim Yong-dae.

The lawmakers and North Korean officials are expected to discuss ways to establish peace on the Korean Peninsula and expand inter-Korean exchanges and economic cooperation.

The group will also discuss a proposal made in April of last year to jointly develop the area surrounding the mouth of Han River, and to designate special economic zones along the North's west coast.
