Inter-Korean Family Reunions Open in Mt. Geumgang

A group of one-hundred South Koreans will meet their long-lost North Korean family members Wednesday at the North's Mount Geumgang resort.

The group will cross over the heavily fortified demilitarized zone around noon and then meet with their long-separated kin later in the afternoon before attending a dinner reception.

On the second day of reunions Thursday, the families will have lunch together and enjoy an outing to the Samilpo resort area before bidding farewell on Friday.

A second group of one-hundred from the South will travel to the scenic mountain resort on Saturday for another three-day round of reunions.

The reunions, the 15th of their kind, are the first to occur in eleven months.
