A U.S. House resolution urging Japan to apologize for its wartime sexual slavery has won the support of more than 120 U.S. lawmakers one week after reaching the 100 signature milestone.

A Korean-American voters’ group pushing for passage of the resolution said Friday that the number of joint sponsors has topped 124, as nine more lawmakers promised to lend their support.

Now that more than 120 have signed on, the resolution is believed to be more likely to pass the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee.
