Final Preparations Under Way for Railway Test

Just two days ahead of the historic inter-Korean railway test runs, the two Koreas are busy with last-minute preparations.

South and North Korea worked together to link rail communications at the military demarcation line for both the Gyeongui and Donghae lines on Monday. On Tuesday, the two sides finished testing communication signals between the Dorasan and Panmun stations and between Jejin and Gamho stations.

The communication links will allow both sides to coordinate train departure and arrival times via telephone hotline.

South Korea will deliver on Wednesday its list of 200 passengers who will board trains for Thursday's test runs. North Korea will also provide a list of one-hundred participants.
