Korea to dispatch environmental official to China

The Ministry of Environment plans to send an official to China to boost environmental exchanges and cooperation.
A ministry official said China is spending vast sums of money on improving its environment after being awarded the 2008 Summer Olympics. He said China's preference for South Korea's environmental technologies is expected to help local companies enter the Chinese market.
Since June, the ministry and the National Institute of Environmental Research have been exhibiting environmental technologies in Beijing that were developed by 16 domestic firms.
