South and North Korean officials are discussing cooperation in light industries and underground resources for a second and last day Wednesday in the North’s border city of Gaesong.

The two sides will work out details of a previous agreement under which Seoul agreed to provide raw materials worth 80 million dollars to the North this year in return for permission to harvest natural resources in the communist state.

The two sides will also go over preparations for South Korean officials to inspect possible sites in North Korea for underground natural resource development next month.

During the 12th meeting of the Inter-Korean Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee in June of last year, South Korea agreed to send raw industrial materials to the North.
