Temples Celebrate Buddha's Birthday

The nation marked Buddha's Birthday Thursday with various religious and cultural events at temples across the country.

The Jogye Buddhist order held a ceremony at the Seoul Jogye Temple attended by its head monks. The Taego order also marked the national holiday with a ceremony in Seoul and the Cheontae order in Danyang, North Chungcheong Province.

North Korean Buddhists also issued an inter-Korean prayer for Korean unification at an event in Pyongyang.

At Gyeongguk Temple in Seoul, a cultural event will take place also gathering Christian and Catholic choir groups.
